Systems & Infrastructure Administrator
We are currently hiring an experienced Systems & Infrastructure Manager to own the technology backbone that keeps Longship running.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the reliability, security, and performance of our servers, networks, virtualization, communications, and business-intelligence platforms. You will lead a small team, set technical direction, and partner across the business to keep our infrastructure secure, scalable, and highly available.
This position reports directly to Longship’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) and backfills a long-tenured leader, so we are looking for a seasoned professional who can step in, take ownership quickly, and continue to modernize and automate our environment.
Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure & virtualization — Own the design, deployment, and day-to-day operation of on-prem and hybrid infrastructure, including Nutanix hyperconverged (HCI) clusters, virtualization, servers, storage, and backup/disaster-recovery systems.
- Networking — Manage LAN/WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and Wi-Fi; ensure resilient, high-performance connectivity across headquarters and remote sites.
- Security — Administer Palo Alto Networks (PAN) firewalls and lead the organization’s security posture: perimeter and endpoint protection, access control, patching, vulnerability management, monitoring, and incident response.
- Unified communications — Administer and optimize the UCaaS platform (cloud voice, video, contact-center, and messaging) that supports 24/7 operations.
- Microsoft 365 & collaboration — Administer the Microsoft 365 / Office 365 environment and Microsoft Teams, including Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive, identity and licensing, security and compliance settings, and end-user support.
- Reporting & analytics — Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models that give leadership and operations clear visibility into systems health, capacity, and business metrics.
- Automation — Identify and automate repetitive infrastructure and administrative tasks (scripting, scheduled jobs, workflow automation) to reduce manual effort and improve consistency and uptime.
- Availability & performance — Monitor systems proactively, plan capacity, tune performance, and drive toward high-availability and rapid recovery objectives.
- Team leadership — Lead, mentor, and develop the systems & infrastructure team; set standards, prioritize work, and manage vendors and service providers.
- Documentation & governance — Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and change-management practices; support audits and compliance requirements.
- Cross-functional partnership — Collaborate with operations, security, and business stakeholders to align infrastructure with company growth and 24/7 service commitments
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or a closely related field, including team or project leadership.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in networking — routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and WAN/LAN architecture.
- Hands-on experience administering Palo Alto Networks (PAN) firewalls and a strong grasp of network and infrastructure security practices.
- Production experience with Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (or comparable HCI/virtualization platforms), including servers, storage, and backup/DR.
- Experience administering a UCaaS / cloud communications platform (voice, video, contact center, messaging).
- Hands-on administration of Microsoft 365 / Office 365 and Microsoft Teams (Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive, identity, licensing, and security/compliance).
- Proficiency building reports and dashboards in Power BI, including data modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to automate infrastructure and administrative tasks through scripting or workflow tooling (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics for non-technical stakeholders.
- Track record of maintaining secure, highly available environments in a fast-paced, always-on business.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications such as PCNSA/PCNSE (Palo Alto), Nutanix NCP, network certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP), Microsoft 365 certifications, or security certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP).
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or another 24/7 operational environment.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and hybrid architectures.
- Experience with compliance frameworks and IT audit processes.
- Vendor and budget management experience.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Director of Recruiting to lead our talent acquisition efforts and build the high-performing teams that make Longship’s mission possible.
Responsibilities:
- Leads members of the Recruiting department (Recruiting Coordinators, etc.)
- Facilitates the performance of the Recruiting department through monthly and/or quarterly performance reviews
- Recruits top talent; efficiently & effectively fills open positions
- Ensure all departments are adequately staffed to support business needs
- Creates and manages job postings
- Schedules, coordinates, and conducts phone and in-person interviews
- Leads the process to ensure candidates understand position details, complete applications, meet qualifications, and close positions
- Extends offers to successful candidates and works in tandem with the Director of Human Resources on the new hire onboarding process
- Develops, coordinates, and executes recruitment strategies and provides support for key recruitment initiatives.

Sales Intern (Fall 2026)
Our Sales Internship Program is a 12-week program intended to immerse you into the transportation & logistics industry, give you real business experience, and aid in developing skills that will prepare you for your future career – hopefully at Longship.
As a Sales Intern, you will participate in a combination of responsibilities including inside sales, account management, supply chain planning, and operational activities to meet the shipping needs of our customers.
The ideal Sales Intern is highly motivated, goal oriented, and a strong communicator who succeeds in a fast-paced environment. They should set and maintain high standards of customer service, reliability, and punctuality.
Responsibilities:
- Learn, perform, and refine the craft of selling in the logistics industry
- Aid in facilitating the movement of customer freight – entering loads from customer tenders, scheduling/rescheduling appointments, monitoring daily pick-ups/deliveries, etc.
- Discover how to negotiate and confirm rates
- Develop strong relationships with customers and carriers through research, cold calling, and lead generation
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate education pursuing a Bachelor’s degree; senior-level standing preferred
- Strong work ethic and sales-driven
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Aptitude and appreciate for selling in a fast-paced environment

Schedule:
